Folly Farm Adventure Park and Zoo

Folly Farm Map

For a fun and educational family day out in Wales then there is nowhere better than Folly Farm Adventure Park and Zoo! It’s a zoo, farm, funfair and adventure play area in one place.

Folly Farm Adventure Park and Zoo is easy to find and has parking attendants in place making parking really smooth. We arrived bang on opening time at 10am and walked straight up to the entrance with no queue. I was already loving this place. Inside, the park is spotless with lots of space for the animals and the humans to stroll about. We had a map but that didn’t matter we just set off to look for the lions.

This was swiftly followed by rhino, giraffe and zebra. All of which looked clean, happy and healthy!

After our picnic, we got hands-on with the animals. From milking a goat to scratching the back of a pig, we heard, saw and smelled the full farm experience.

There is a land train that runs from the other side of the main road. It’s accessible via a subway under the road. It runs every 20 mins and has a recorded tour guide speaking for the duration about the animals that you can see.

There is a huge indoor soft play area if the weather is not great or if you just need a change of scene. We all know that the attention span of a 4-year-old isn’t long. It’s amazing how they get an energy boost from nowhere once they set eyes on soft play areas!

Keep an eye on the time as, throughout the day, there are themed talks at different animal enclosures. If you want to spend a bit more, you can also pay to feed some of the animals by booking an Animal Experience in advance. I bet feeding lions is on many bucket lists.

We didn’t have time to do everything in one day so we will return. We thoroughly recommend a visit. You’ll leave understanding why it has twice been voted ‘Best Family Day Out in Pembrokeshire and Wales’.
